This May business owners and Downtown Washington stakeholders have the chance to network and learn to benefit their business. First up, the next Main Street Mixer will be held on Wednesday May 8th from 5-7PM at The Washington Winery. Representatives from Honeycomb Credit will be on hand to discuss more about their unique crowdfunding resources for small businesses. Also that evening, a representative from Mansmann Foundation will be present where attendees can learn about their peer-to-peer business pod here in Washington where pod members learn business tips from one another.
Next up is our next Business Bootcamp: Marketing & Social Media Best Practices. Brett Smith from the University of Pittsburgh Small Business Development Center will share tip and trends to implement in your business’ marketing efforts to capture your target audience. Facade Improvement Grant Program
Businesses can also enter to apply to update their business’ storefront, signage, or lighting with the WBDA Facade Improvement Grant Program. Applications are now available to both property owners and businesses within the WBDA Special Services District. Applications are available for up to $10,000 and must be submitted in full by July 15, 2019.

Lastly, to get in the summer spirit and prepare for the 10th Annual Whiskey Rebellion Festival, Downtown businesses and property owners can enter the new Patriotic & Rebellion Window Display Contest. Mix red, white, and blue in your windows to enter to win one of three top prizes from the Whiskey Rebellion Festival committee. To enter, businesses and property owners must register here and have their displays up by July 1. The top 3 winners will be selected by most “likes” on the WBDA Facebook page and announced at the Festival’s opening ceremony. To enter the contest, all participants must register here.
