Washington PA – Ring in 2019 with the next Downtown Washington Main Street Mixer on Thursday, January 10th from 5-7PM. This event will be held at Presidents Pub (88 N Main). Business owners and downtown stakeholders are invited to network with their neighbors to brainstorm ideas and partnerships for the new year.
Attendees will meet at Presidents Pub (88 N Main Street) upper floor bar. Snacks will be provided. Also during this mixer, the Washington Area Business Incubator (WABI) will announce the winner of its most recent business competitions, Ideas 2 Enterprise.
In continuing efforts, the WABI supports and grows Washington County businesses. The inaugural I2E (Ideas to Enterprise) Program launched on October 27, 2018 with seven (7) participants. The I2E program will be a platform for launching new businesses and growing existing businesses. The program entailed a four- session workshop designed to assist participants in developing a business model/plan for a new venture or for an existing venture; the submission of a completed plan to a grant committee; and the selection of first and second place awardees. The Program aims to provide subject matter consultative support and capital to Washington County entrepreneurs and build a culture of empowerment, education, connectivity and support. $5,000 in total grants will be awarded to awardees; $3000 to the first place winner and $2000 to the second place winner.
These grants are intended to assist awardees in establishing the foundation for a profitable business in Washington County, leverage technical assistance and additional sources of capital to ensure the success of the businesses; and diversify and promote the wellbeing of the Washington County’s commercial districts.
